A married couple, that were long time motorcycle drivers were both killed in a motor vehicle accident in Cottage Grove. A car cut in front of them as they were driving through the intersection of Highway 61 and 120th Street. They were driving their own motorcycles and both hit the car. They were thrown from their motorcycles. The evidence suggests that the driver of the car is at fault.

Authorities have not specified a precise cause of the crash, but a State Patrol report indicated alcohol was detected in Anderson's system. A toxicology test was performed Sunday night, but results were not available Monday, authorities said. Anderson has two previous convictions in the past 10 years for drunken-driving, according to the Hennepin County attorney's office.

Both of the victims died at the scene. Neither one of them was wearing a helmut. The driver of the car was injured and is being treated at a local hospital.
